Training is Completed

Today was the final day of my training for the ride across America. Upon completion of the 50 mile ride Matt and I had our last coffee at Peet’s for two months. Since the beginning of the year I’ve spent 250 hours cycling 4150 miles and climbing 200,750 feet. I also started Yoga for the first time and went to 100 classes. The preparation is done and 5 days from now we’ll dip our tires in the Pacific Ocean and head out on our 4000 mile/60 day journey. But first it’s off to Oregon to watch my son Eric graduate from college! We’ll both be starting our own new journey’s this week!

Tell the truth….you are taking the Peet’s with you. You’ll just have to drink it out of those funny little disposable cone shaped coffee cups, in the supe 8 motels. Gotta have the Peet’s!!

Chris – love it! Talk about a bucket list check-off! You are such an inspiration. Best of luck in your adventure with Matt; can’t wait to read your journal entries:) And our best to Eric – boy, didn’t those 4 years fly by?! Mike & Luanne

Couldn’t be happier to see both of you begin the completion of this goal. You have both worked/trained, planned and organized for years and now you will receive the reward. It seems funny to call a 4000 mile/60day bike ride a reward, but it is. You are completing a goal you two set out to accomplish years ago. Many would never have dreamt such a lofty dream, others may not have seen it through and some have dreamed. the big dreams like you and accomplished great things. As you begin this final stage, may you continue to stop and smell the roses along the way as you always do and may God keep and bless you.

    Now live the DREAM!

Congratulations on completing the training and prep for your incredible journey! We wish you all the best; great riding conditions, beautiful scenery, lots of pie and a never ending cup of Peet’s coffee. Enjoy! We’ll be thinking of you and looking forward to reading about this adventure of a lifetime! xoHallie and Keith
